 My email is being rejected when I try to send to your company. What is wrong?
Solution If you have email that is being returned to you the error text will explain why this is occuring. Recently we have been getting complaints about rejected email when sent. By studying a faxed copy of the rejected email we found that the client trying to send the email was sending through a verizon account and the verizon IP address being used was blacklisted as a spamming ip address. Even though you send your email using your domains mail server, the email still passes through your local ISP who you use to access the internet. If they are being blocked, your email will be rejected by anyone using spam intervention to reduce unwanted email.

The error message may look like the following:

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at host.advancederesources.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

Connected to 208.65.144.13 but sender was rejected.
Remote host said: 554 Relaying denied for domain.com



If you inspect further down you will find an ip address in the Received From section.

example:

Received: from pool-71-248-75-114.bltmmd.east.verizon.net (or whoever you are using)


DNSStuff.com has tools available to lookup IP addresses to see if they are blocked. When we searched the
block lists with that verizon IP address we found that it was listed in several spam lists.

To correct the problem, contact verizon or your service provider and give them the information. They should be about
to track down who is causing them to be listed in the RBL's , eliminate the problem and get the IP address removed.
